Years and years ago – on the 23rd April 1912, the Ladies Sodality was formed. After the time of the second Vatican Council, it was re-named “The CLM Ladies” – i.e. the Christian Life Movement for Ladies (English Section)
Under the title of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary it began with much enthusiasm in those early days.
- Reaching out to the sick and ailing members as they visit them specially the sick and the housebound.
- Collecting money for the Mahad Mission once a year.

Ladies Sodality (Konkani Section) for many years is making Hosts everyday in rotation on need base.
Conducts sales of sweets, pickles, etc, every year on 15th August. The profit from the sale is given to the needy organization of the Church, e.g. Medical Centre, St Vincent De Paul, Bandra Feast Novena (Children Party). The record is maintained in the sodality record book.
Three statues of Our Lady of Fatima are kept in the Church, these are given on request to anyone who desires to honour them in their houses. The collection from the boxes of above is done by the sodality (Ladies Konkani Section) and given to needy organizations of the Church depending on availability of funds. The record of collection and distribution is maintained in the Sodality record book. The collection goes to the Clergy home, Mission Sunday, Church building fund outside the parish, etc.
Celebrates the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes and the feast of Santa Isabel. This is done by a fixed contribution by all the members of Sodality. The record of contribution and expenses are maintained in the Sodality record book.
On every Tuesday of the week in the evening at 6.00pm, members meeting, discussion and prayers are held. Members visit their sick members and help them in need in a small way.

The Helmet of Salvation Prayer Group had its root in Our Lady of Salvation School under the leadership of Bro. White. They met each week with faithfulness and dedication. It was in the year 1978, our then Parish Priest Rev. Msgr Jonathan Dias shifted the venue from the School to the Parish. To bring out the charisms in the members as listed in 1 Cor 12:4 ff and to be an effective witness, Life in the Spirit Seminars for a duration of 7 weeks, one talk per week. Initially this was held twice in a year. The Seminars were a guiding force for the spiritual growth. Since then for the last 36 years the prayer meetings have continued with seminars in between for a reawakening of existing members and awareness to the new members.
To discern the needs and to give a sense of direction to the prayer group, we have a core group which meets twice in a month. The weekly prayer is on Tuesdays at 7.30 PM in the Parish Hall. Format is Praise and Worship, Testimonies, a Teaching on a topic either a series or a topic by itself supported by the Word of God and intercession. On the first Tuesday of the month we have the celebration of the Eucharist. On every Tuesday we have Cell Meetings in small groups of 6 to 7 to share their experiences and do a systematic discipleship study. The current study is in one group.
PARISH INVOLVEMENT:
The Word of God has a very positive influence in the lives of the members. It is because of their own faith experience rooted in the Word of God they have been motivated to be catechists both in the confirmation program and in Regular Sunday School.
According to the charisms, there are ministries functioning i.e. Praise and Worship Ministry, Intercession Ministry, Teaching Ministry and Service Ministry.
There is a hierarchy for the Charismatic Renewal for submission and direction. – The International Service Team which is based in Rome – International representation – The National Service Team based in Delhi – comprises leaders from the States in India. – Bombay Service Team based in Bombay – comprises representatives from groups in Bombay. There is a link and reporting done. We as a prayer group present monthly reports and take direction from the Bombay Service Team.
Our focus now is the vision of the Bombay Service Team for all the groups i.e. ‘HIM WE PROCLAIM AND IN HIM WE GROW IN MATURITY.” This was done through a power point presentation when all the leaders and core members met in September 2008. All our teachings now are based on Proclamation and Maturity.
Our Aim is to foster on going growth in holiness through Personal Prayer, reading and studying the Word of God, weekly fellowship meetings, and participation in a rich sacramental and liturgical life of the Church, thus participating in the pastoral plan of the Church.

“Where two or three are gathered in my name” there I am among them (Mt. 18:20), this scripture has come to its fulfillment in our parish.
Way back in the year 1988-89 Manuel Mascarenhes, Mathew D’souza and Leena D’souza used to regularly meet in the morning after 7.30 a.m. mass and pray for the needs of the parish and the world. Seeing this power-house bearing fruit many more joined in and it became bi-lingual intercessory group. With the growing needs of the parish, this intercessory ministry received recognition in the parish in February 2002 with an additional group of intercessors praying in the evening after 7.00 p.m. mass.

The Conference of Our Lady of Salvation was established around the year 1863, and The Conference of St. Francis of Assisi followed by establishing itself around the year 1876. The aggregation of both the conferences by the International Confederation of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Paris, was obtained in the years 1865 and 1878 respectively.
Both the Conferences are registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act, bearing registration Nos. D-91-Bom and D-90-Bom respectively. Annual audited Statements of Accounts by a chartered accountant are submitted to the Deputy Charity Commissioner as required under the Bombay Public Trust Act rules.
The Conferences meet weekly and members of the Conferences who work in pairs, are obliged to visit adopted families under their care, at least once a week. The visitation and relief of the poor in their homes is the fundamental work of the Society, and this help is extended to an adopted family, until it can do without help, the aim always being to put the family on its own feet.
Assistance to adopted families are given by way of rations, educational and medical requirements. Burial expenses and house repairs are also considered on merit, if requested by an adopted family.
The funds for running expenses of our Conferences are collected as under:

VISION: “To Create a just Society through involvement in Socio, Civic & Political Affairs”. It is also involved in Human Rights, Inter-religious Dialogue and Environment Issues. Its objectives is to work for the empowerment of the community in particular and society in general in the civic, political, social, economic and educational sectors.
THRUST AREAS: The vision is realized through the Civic & Political Forum, Social Action Forum, Youth Forum, Inter-Religious Dialogue Forum and Environmental Protection Forum.

In city of Mumbai – in the early sixties better known then as Bombay, the Fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous was still in its infancy. Only a few suffering alcoholics who had received the A. A. message of Hope, having recovered from the disease of Alcoholism – sober and being away from alcohol, endeavoured zealously to pass on this message of Hope to others whom they knew were still suffering due to Alcoholism:-
One such individual, a hopeless, die hard drunk and a Parishioner of Dadar.
Cruz D. received the A. A. message of Hope.
Over a period of time attending the A. A. meetings, which at that time were few and held periodically at Mahim and Bandra. Cruz D was able to stay away from Alcohol and knowing that to stay away from alcohol was not all but to stay stop and to attain Sobriety he had too pass on the good news of the A.A. recovery programme and hope to other suffering Alcoholics – specially so many he knew in an around Dadar Parish.
Hence the need was to start an A.A. Group in Dadar, but how and where? Co-incidently, timely help was forth coming as His Eminence the then Archbishop of Bombay Valerian Cardinal Gracious, who appreciated the good work started by members of A.A. requested the Catholic churches / schools and institution’s in the city of Bombay to encourage the growth of the fellowship of A.A. and to allocate space / class rooms where-ever, if possible to conduct A.A. meetings. Cruz D. then approached the members of the Legion of Mary – a catholic lay association of the Salvation Church Dadar and with the assistance and help of its senior members – the late Mr. John Femandes, Mrs. Mildred Murzello (nee Athaide) along with their committed assistants and together with his mentor and sponsor Dr. (Prof.) Joe Sundaram, convinced the then Parish Priest Msgr. F. X. Vaz the need for space to conduct A.A. meetings in Dadar Parish. Msgr. Vaz willingly extended all help and support, allocated a class room in the old convent cum school building.
January 16, 1964, Cruz D. and other members of A.A. had the first A.A. cum Awareness meeting in the parish of O.L. of Salvation, Dadar. Many years have past, since Dadar A.A. groups inception and are still helping the alcoholic who suffers and now conducts its daily meetings in the new Seva Kendra on the ground floor of the building premises allocated for Dadar A. A. group functioning. This new premises too was inaugurated and blessed by His Eminence Simon Cardinal Pimenta. Cruz D. is no more, expired in the year 2003, as one of the co-founders did all he could for Dadar A.A. group, namely:- Passing The Message To The Alcoholic Who Still Suffers.

The Al-Anon Family Groups are a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength, and hope, in order to solve their common problems. We believe alcoholism is a family illness, and that changed attitudes can aid recovery. Al-Anon is not allied with any sect, denomination, political entity, organization, or institution; does not engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any cause. There are no dues for membership. Al-Anon is self-supporting through its own voluntary contributions. Al-Anon membership is open to anyone who is affected by someone else’s drinking. The only requirement for membership is that there be a problem of alcoholism in a relative or friend.
What Does Al-Anon Do?
Al-Anon has but one purpose: to help families of alcoholics. Al-Anon members do this by practicing the Twelve Steps, by welcoming and giving comfort to families of alcoholics, and by giving understanding and encouragement to the alcoholic.
How will Al-Anon help me?
Many who come to Al-Anon are in despair, feeling hopeless, unable to believe that things can ever change. We want our lives to be different, but nothing we have done has brought about change. We all come to Al-Anon because we want and need help. In Al-Anon members share their own experience, strength, and hope with each other. You will meet others who share your feelings and frustrations, if not your exact situation. We come together to learn a better way of life, to find happiness whether the alcoholic is still drinking or not.

Membership: It is open to Parishioners men and women who have completed 60 years of age, irrespective of whether they are in service or not. Parishioners who have crossed the age of 55 years and who have taken VRS may also apply for membership.

- Celebration of the Feast of Patron Saints, Elders’ Day
- Annual picnic, Christmas get-together.
- Elections held every two years.
